RI updates Landlord/Tenant handbook: effective 1/1/24, the Department of Housing will release a comprehensive guide on the rights and responsibilities of landlords and tenants under the Residential Landlord and Tenant Act in both English and Spanish. It was developed in cooperation with the Rhode Island Center for Justice, HousingWorks RI and Rhode Island Legal Services. The law requires Rhode Island to update the handbook biennially.
