CHARITABLE WORKS

Thanks for all the non-profits who applied for a 2024 grant by our deadline of 6/30/23.  Please expect to hear back from us in October. 

Throughout 2023, NRIBR will be supporting Friends of Animals in Need (FAN assists pet owners facing financial challenges keep their pets by providing foods and other resources to avoid the surrender, abandonment, or the euthanizing of their pet) and the Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center  (which advocates for and provides domestic and sexual assault services designed to educate the community, connect local authorities to victims, and they provide translation services for Latino victims).  You can make a donation via the “PayPal Donate” button below.    

At our 102nd Annual Meeting on 10/5/22, the Board presented a $12,000 check to Meals on Wheels of RI.

At our 101st Annual Meeting on 9/30/21, the Board presented checks in the amounts of $3,000 each to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern RI and the Blackstone Valley Emergency Food Center.

At our Annual meeting on 9/26/19, the Community Action Committee presented a check for $5,350 to the Community Care Alliance as a result of our 2019 fundraising activities.  This non-profit organization strives to support individuals and families in their efforts to meet economic, social and emotional challenges and enahnce their well-being.
At our annual meeting on 9/20/18, the Community Action Committee presented a check for $5,450 to the Community Care Alliance as a result of our 2018 fundraising activities. This non-profit organization strives to support individuals and families in their efforts to meet economic, social and emotional challenges and enhance their well-being.
In 2018, the NRIBR will be supporting Community Care Alliance of Woonsocket, RI.
In 2016 and 2017, the Board supported the Northern Rhode Island Food Pantry.  This emergency food pantry assists close to 200 families in the Northern RI area each month and provides vital services to the most vulnerable in our community.  The Board conducted food drives and collected monetary donations, resulting in over $2,000 donated to this great community partner. 
On 9/24/2015, the Northern Rhode Island Board of REALTORS® presented a check in the amount of $1500 to Cumberland-Lincoln Boys & Girls Club, bringing our year-end total to $2,000.  The proceeds were raised at the Board’s Charity Bowl in August 2015.  2015 Board President, Ryan Antrop selected the group as the President’s Charity citing the valuable after-school and athletic programs the Boys & Girls Club operates for area residents.  In attendance at the check presentation were Left to Right: President Ryan Antrop; Gary Rebello, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club and Joe Gonsalves, Chief Operating Officer for the Boys & Girls Club.

BOARD DELIVERS BACKPACKS TO WOONSOCKET HEAD START

On September 22, 2015, the Northern Rhode Island Board of REALTORS® presented 190 Backpacks to Woonsocket Head Start. A Backpack Drive was held during a Charity Bowl Fundraising Event. The Northern Rhode Island Board of REALTORS® Charitable Works Committee Chair, Debby Smith coordinated with City of Woonsocket Director of Human Resources, Linda Plays, to determine the amount of backpacks needed for the children of the Woonsocket Head Start program. In attendance for the delivery of the backpacks were: NRIBR Chief Executive Officer Donna Andrews, Charitable Works Committee members – Debby Smith and Pete Dufresne, 2015 NRIBR President Ryan Antrop, NRIBR Director and also a Councilman of Woonsocket Garrett Mancieri, Wonnsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt, Director of HR for City of Woonsocket Linda Plays and Executive Director of Head Start Mary Var.
