The Northern Rhode Island Board of REALTORS® (NRIBR) is a certified Real Estate School with the RI Department of Business Regulation. We are pleased to offer professional development programs both in person at our office and via Zoom.

Students attending classes, must comply with our Code of Conduct.  We reserve the right to remove anyone not abiding to the Code of Conduct.

REAL ESTATE LICENSE RENEWALS

License renewals are processed through the RI Department of Business Regulation. RI Licensees are required to complete 24 hours of real estate-oriented education/courses approved by the RI Department of Business Regulation every 2 years. At least 9 of the 24 hours of course instruction must be designated as “core” courses andinclude a minimum of 3 hours of *Fair Housing education (*new requirement as of 1/1/2022).

Renewal deadlines are as follows:

  • If you were licensed PRIOR to January 1, 2020, your renewal deadline is April 30th, 2024.
  • If you were licensed AFTER January 1, 2020, your renewal deadline is your anniversary date from every 2 years from the date on your license.

REALTOR® CODE OF ETHICS

REALTOR® members need to complete a REALTOR® Code of Ethics course every three years on a specific three-year cycle. We are currently in the 7th Triennial Cycle which runs from 1/1/2022 – 12/31/2024.  

Effective 1/1/2022, only REALTOR ® Code of Ethics classes offered by your local Association, the State Association, the National Association or through schools with applied classes will be accepted for this membership obligation.

The 8 schools with applied classes are AmbiviewCE ShopKeep Me Certified, OnlineEDMcKissockReal Estate Nexus Training AcademyRI School of Real EstateThe Training Cove.

Options to complete the Code of Ethics include:

– Online with the National Association of REALTORS® – Free (no CEU credits).

– Online with the Rhode Island Association of REALTORS® 

– Zoom and In-Person Classes (see dates above)

– Online with The CE Shop – Select any of the classes marked “NAR Ethics”

– With one of the 8 applied schools named above

– REALTOR® Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) – Members who complete or renew the C2EX endorsement during the 7th Triennial, will satisfy the Code of Ethics training requirement.

DESIGNATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and its affiliated Institutes, Societies, and Councils provide a wide range of programs and services that help members increase their skills, proficiency, and knowledge. Designations and certifications acknowledging experience and expertise in various real estate sectors are awarded by NAR and each affiliated group upon completion of required courses.
